About Me - why I run yoga retreats in Mexico

In 2018 I lost my beautiful daughter Dakota. She and I embarked on our Yoga Teacher Training journey together, and I took the initiative to complete it on behalf of both of us. Since then, I have remained dedicated to ongoing study and skill enhancement.

My focus is on assisting mature women in transforming from a state of feeling lost, overwhelmed, stiff, and achy—while not engaging in yoga—into individuals who are more flexible and confident in their bodies.

I am proud to be a member of Yoga Alliance.

About Dakota

I choose to live in the light of her life ....

YTT500, Yin Yoga, Trauma Informed Certified and Grief Expert

My inspiration for teaching yoga and running retreats

Our retreats offer a compassionate space for women and grievers to connect deeply, discover inner strength, and embrace wellness in a tropical paradise.

Every day, I feel the absence of her presence, yet I find solace in knowing that she is in the company of Jesus.

Where do I even begin? Among my three daughters, she was undeniably the firecracker, my wild child. Always the most adventurous and untamed, she consistently put me through the wringer.

Dakota, a beautiful soul, has transitioned to a different energy field, and I believe she is now with Jesus. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and primarily raised in Canada, she cherished the wild beauty and safety of Vancouver Island. She left this world at the age of 23.

Dakota opened my eyes to a whole new realm of energy healing, and her presence still lingers with me. The void left by her absence is profound, and I miss her dearly.

Yoga has helped me so much to heal my broken heart, it is a daily journey

my life is lived with profound sadness since Dakota left, but also joy now and again

In 2018, my life took a devastating turn when my youngest daughter, Dakota, tragically passed away. Despite the profound grief, I am a proud mother of three beautiful daughters and a stepdaughter, celebrating over 30 years of marriage. Throughout most of my life, I've been self-employed, with a passion for advertising sales before Dakota's departure.

Dakota and I initiated our Yoga Teacher Training journey together, and although she couldn't complete it, I finished it in her honor. Now, I humbly share my teachings with those seeking movement and healing. Everyone's story is unique, and only they understand the reasons for their healing journey. I've conducted private lessons and classes in Mexico and Canada, earning heartfelt testimonials from clients.

Guiding individuals, whether new to yoga or seeking solace through movement amid grief, is my purpose. I've navigated my own loss through a consistent yoga practice. While there are days of overwhelming grief, yoga remains my anchor.

My world is no longer black and white; color has returned, allowing me to live and celebrate Dakota's life. If any of this resonates with you, let's connect. I offer free yoga on YouTube and host the Yin Yoga Club, and an annual retreat around the Day of the Dead in Mexico. Additionally, one-on-one classes are available on Zoom and in person.

I've sought counseling, participated in courses, and learned from inspiring individuals.

Yoga has been transformative, moving grief energy through my body. From misery and depression, I've progressed to living a good life (on many days). Allow me to support you on a similar journey.
